This is a group of our most generous and loyal supporters, who make one extra, substantial contribution each year – over and above their normal giving – towards a specific need or project.

To join the Circle of the Dove, you will need to invest at least £75 (or $85/€80). In return, you have the satisfaction of knowing you and your fellow members are making it possible for new projects to be initiated, or specific needs met.

This year, our Circle of the Dove members are working together to turn a disused shipping container into a care centre for the children of Tafelsig – a poor community about 32 miles from Cape Town.

With a fresh coat of paint, child-sized tables and chairs, books, posters, stationery and games, we can create a safe place for them to go after school, where they can do their homework, read, learn, and simply be children.

Your kindness will not only change a child's life right now, it could start them on the road to a whole new future. Sandra Leukes, who runs the community centre, tells us that dropping out of school early, gangsterism, crime and drugs are serious threats to these children – unless we can show them now that there are better choices.

If you would like to join the Circle of the Dove and be part of this heartwarming project, please click here. Or email pauline.ford@cwd.org.za.

As a member, you receive a special update on the progress of the year's chosen project – and a small gift of appreciation. This year, we have a unique beaded 'dove' keyring to thank you for giving wings to children grounded in poverty.

:: Reportback

Last year, our Circle of the Dove supporters helped heal the lives of traumatised refugee children – by providing a playground of swings, jungle-gyms and slides, set in a pretty garden of soft lawn at the Bonne Esperance Refugee Centre.

This year, our focus is on the new Child Care Centre at Tafelsig. Your support makes these special projects possible.

Thank you for caring!
