42 medals for our rope-skipping youth!

width=350

Congratulations to every one of our 23 talented Youth Interfacing rope-skippers! They enjoyed five days in Gauteng at the National Gymnastic Games – organised by the South African Gym Federation – and did us proud.

These boys and girls – aged from nine to 20 years – competed with all the other provinces – and were awarded a whopping 42 medals: 15 gold 20 silver and seven bronze!

Their stay at the Mitsomi Game Reserve was a real treat. For many of the youth it was the first time they had been away from home or travelled in an aeroplane.

Medal winners will compete for a place in the 2010 Olympics to be held in the United Kingdom where rope-skipping is now an Olympic sport!

We are immensely proud of our team and thank all our athletes for their hard work and devotion to their sport.
